Nachiketa
Nachiketa is a boy whose spiritual understanding transcends his years. We follow his spiritual journey
through the film, with guidance from the Lord of Death.
Yamaraja
Yamaraja is the Hindu god of Death and final judge on the destination of souls. He is the first human believed to have transcended death into immortality. He helps Nachiketa understand fundamental truths about life and the world, aiding in his journey.
Vajashrava was a respected teacher and at the beginning of the film is preparing for a sacred ceremony, Vishwajit Yajña, where it is required to give away all his worldly possessions. Nachiketa is his son. Like many families, they do not always see eye-to-eye on certain aspects of life, but still care deeply for each other.
